Know exactly when to change
Home Connect has a rather nifty little counter that alerts you when it’s time to wash, replace or regenerate your hood filters. When grease filters get to 80% and 100% congestion, Home Connect will conveniently let you know with a push notification. The same goes with odor filters, which means you can keep your filters working at optimum efficiency without much worry. Go to your hood appliance, click settings and you’ll be able to see everything in a clear, easy way. That’s one of the smart home’s advantages.
Unsure how to clean? No problem
Now, if you’re thinking “that’s all well and good, but I don’t know how to clean or change the filters'' don't worry, we’ve all been there. Most grease filters can be washed in a dishwasher or by hand with dish soap, while odor filters often need to be replaced. If you’re uncertain about any aspect of your hood’s grease filter there’s a handy digital version of the manual built into the Home Connect app under ‘Instructions for use’, just in case you lose your original paper copy.
The app makes replacements even easier
Wondering where to buy odor filters? If you need a little help identifying which odor filter you need for your hood, take a look in the appliance information section of Home Connect. Here you’ll find your E number. Depending on the brand of your appliance, you search for this E number on Bosch, Siemens or Neff’s website and the correct appliance will appear. When clicking on it, a more detailed product page will open, showing a tab called accessories. Here you will find your suitable odor filter. After ordering your replacement and putting it in, open Home Connect and click settings followed by reset saturation/reset grease filter. The app will easily reset everything in your hood. Simple!
