Obviously we’re a little bit biased, but we do think modern digital tools make the world all the more convenient and wonderful. Having said that, quality offline time should be an important part of the day. One might think that putting the screen down and logging-off might not be conducive with a smart household, but actually Home Connect has been designed to help as much as possible with this with our partners. Let’s take a look at how we can switch off from our online lives.
How to switch off, with a little help from Home Connect
Know the score with LaMetric
If you want some time away from your screen while keeping a tab on your smart home devices, look no further than LaMetric. This handy smart clock works with Home Connect to tell you how long functions like wash cycles will take, without using your phone. With incredible connectivity to a huge range of smart home functions including oven, fridge and even your Roxxter it’s a great way to know what’s happening around the house. In addition you can also programme it to start your coffee machine at the touch of a button, making it the perfect bedside companion when you wake up early in the morning.
More Voice Control, less screen time
Lots of devices have ‘digital wellbeing’ tools to help us enjoy quality offline time, with timers that tell us how long we’ve spent on apps etc. To help you make the most of your smart household without needing to look at your screen, we’ve also partnered with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Using Voice Control with Alexa compatible devices and Google Home compatible devices you can run the dishwasher or start the oven without touching your phone. Pretty handy if you want to read a book, or spend some quality time with your family without picking up a device, or potential work email.
